I stumbled upon “Why Start With Why” by Simon Sinek. This video transformed my life in many ways that I didn’t expect.
Then, while I was doing Exec MBA UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, in my operations class, I came across “Toyota - 5 Whys Framework”.
Since I was working at Charles Schwab as a Technical Director, I started asking why all the time to get to the root cause. Jokingly, they started calling me “The Why Guy” (Here comes “The Why Guy” …)
And the only nice Twitter handle and domain name that I could get and that people could remember easily was “The Why Man”!
What Is TEP Blog About?
This is about highlighting the “Technologies” that are disrupting our society, “Educating” others are finance and politics (which are not taught in schools), and “Policies” that we need to put in for the betterment of society, i.e., AI policies, and inequality policies.
This blog started with Blockchain & Crypto education:
I am a macro investor like Naval Ravikant, Robert Kiyosaki, and Warren Buffett, not a trader focused on short-term gains and end-up burning hands. I wanted to find good investments in crypto that I could invest for the long term, i.e., multiple boom and bust cycles.
There are so many bloggers & you-tubers that give tons of advice on what coins to buy, etc.; however, not many give you a macro picture, give you strategies on how to pick your own, or provide tax saving strategies in a single shot.
Moreover, they neither have hands on experience with the technology nor have solid financial/venture knowledge (i.e, MBA) like I do to give me multidimensional view points.
I spent much time reading about the latest technology, investment, etc.After I realized the incredible opportunity of crypto and blockchain in general, I started sharing information with friends and family. And to scale, I shared a doc and a chat. That, too, became unscalable. Hence, I started this blog to help those that are in the same boat as me.
I filter all the things that I read through my hands-on tech/financial/venture lens and provide you consolidate info so that you don’t have to spend so much time.
What I won’t teach?
I will never ask you to buy something.
I will suggest you take a look at it and explain why you should look at it.
What price to buy/sell at? Different strokes for different folks. Everyone has different risk levels; one size doesn’t fit all. Buy and sell based on your conviction.
I will provide you with a model portfolio and tell you when I am entering or exiting or when the market is moving.

Who Am I?
I am a software engineer by trade with 20yrs of experience. I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, Executive MBA program.
I am an entrepreneur and a speaker on various technologies, financial education, and political policy-making to ensure technology helps the common man.
Currently, I am an Engineer at Google.
I taught Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Blockchain at University of California, Berkeley Exec Education. Trained over 500+ executives across the globe.
My Crypto Background
I was in Austin, TX, in 2012 when my friend introduced me to Bitcoin when the price was $250. I bought 0.25 BTC to do a programming experiment. I set up my first mining and earned a little on my own built computer. :-)
I wanted to invest my entire yearly bonus in it; but, I got distracted and didn’t invest. That is the great regret of my life! I am not going to repeat that mistake again.
In 2015, I gave presentations at my company, Charles Schwab, to convince my colleagues why we should move to blockchain-based trading before competitors. ETH was $8 when I gave my first presentation!!!
Now, I see my predictions come true with Decentralized Financing (Defi) revolution. At least 25% of financial companies that we know of today won’t exist any more in next 5 yrs. For example, muti-blockchain exchange Decentralized Exchanges like THORChain that will replace all the traditional Why do we need Centralized Exchanges (CEX) like - Coinbase or Binance? or Uniswap/Sushiswap that are blockchain specific Decentralized Exchanges (DEX).
After my MBA in 2016 at UC Berkeley, I decided to move back to California to start a company on Blockchain.
I participated in 3 blockchain hackathons in the Bay area and won all 3.
